My first radio with a scope. Needless to say, it blew my mind. I bypassed the 7300 and went straight to a 7610 because I got $1000 off the advertised price for a second hand unit which had the TFT display changed. You can be a complete dummy about SDR, spectrum scopes and direct sampling receivers because, these out of the box units from Icom and Yaesu merge the old with the new very well and they operate as you would expect. The IC-7610 is basically two 7300’s in one including two antenna ports.

The only issue with the 7610 is early units had problems with the TFT screen turning milky white. Icom had a slew of units worldwide which they had to take back and replace the screens in. Last I heard was they were using different screens on the production line and they would support users outside of warranty with replacement screens if they failed. Do your own research about this, but it damaged the reputation very early of an otherwise fine radio. Mine is great and it’s very unlikely I will ever sell it.
